The Department of State Health Services is trying to keep people safe.
They're hosting a 17 city outreach tour to encourage Texans to prepare for emergencies, whether they're man-made or natural.
"While we are working our daily lives...8 to 5, our daily lives...we've got to be prepared for the unexpected. Whether it's a tornado or a flood, or for some reason the interstate, there's a chemical spill that might affect our community," Midland Health and Senior Services coordinator Sal Garcia told Big 2.
Other agencies are helping to spread that message. This includes the Salvation Army, the National Weather Service and the American Red Cross.
