MIDLAND -- A trial has begun for a Midland man accused of causing a fatal crash last year.
Jose Miguel Hernandez, 21, pleaded guilty yesterday to intoxication manslaughter and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. He was indicted for a crash last December that killed Robert Libenson and badly injured Libenson's wife Stacy. Hernandez was reportedly speeding in a stolen pickup when police say he ran a red light and hit the Libensons' vehicle.
Hernandez pleaded not guilty to the remaining charges, which include murder and aggravated assault. He could face life in prison if found guilty of all counts.
