ODESSA -- Going to Disney World is a dream for everyone, from young kids to N.F.L. quarterbacks. Now, that dream is coming true for one Odessa boy.
Seven year-old Aiden Urteaga is going to Disney World, courtesy of the Make-a-Wish foundation. Urteaga has a life threatening medical condition, and he told wish granters in the program that he wanted to meet a power ranger and get a balloon at the home of Mickey Mouse.
He's heading to Orlando next Wednesday, but on Friday his first grade class at Blanton Elementary held a surprise send-off party for him.
"For Aiden and his family, I know we're really looking forward to giving them this opportunity to just go and enjoy the time together as a family and not worry about doctors visits," Tina Corbett of the Make-A-Wish Foundation told Big 2.
My Community Federal Credit Union raised the funds for Aiden's trip during their annual golf tournament.
