VANCOUVER, CANADA -- The ongoing saga of Randy Quaid and his wife Evi has taken a new turn, as the couple has requested asylum in Canada.
The two were arrested in Vancouver last Friday. They were later released after posting $10,000 bond. After bonding out, the Quaids told Canadian authorities they needed asylum, because of so-called "star-whackers."
Evi Quaid went on to say that someone is murdering Hollywood celebrities, and claimed that Heath Ledger and David Carradine had both been targeted. Ledger died in 2008 of an apparent prescription drug overdose, while Carradine died from apparent auto-erotic asphyxiation.
Randy and Evi Quaid were arrested in Marfa last year after allegedly skipping out on an expensive hotel bill in Santa Barbara, CA. They then caused a spectacle in West Texas, painting the side of a semi and complaining about Marfa law enforcement.
