MIDLAND -- With a growing elderly population comes a growing number of mental illnesses such as Alzheimer's disease and dementia.
Allegiance Specialty Hospital of the Permian Basin took some time today to help educate medical and health professionals who work closely with patients at high risk. They were very pleased with the turnout.
"We had over 130 registered licensed professionals, counselors, social workers, registered nurses, nursing home administrators. All these folks came out to earn their C.E.U.hours for this one day summit," Rosie Lopez of Allegiance told Big 2.
Allegiance is also celebrating its one year anniversary. The center includes two separate wings so they can care for geriatric patients and younger patients separately.
