ODESSA -- More information has been released on the man who apparently killed himself when Ector County Sheriff's deputies went to serve a warrant Thursday in Odessa.
Deputies say Michael Shawn Williams was at a home on Kermit Avenue when he saw the deputies. He immediately ran inside the home. Williams had a criminal history of felony theft and burglary, and was being served a blue warrant for a parole violation.
Deputies saw Williams had a gun, and called in back-up. Eventually, they fired tear gas into the home. When they went inside they found Williams with a gunshot wound to the head.
