ODESSA -- An Odessa man is behind bars after he allegedly tried to force another family member to have sex.
Paulino Pando was arrested Sunday night and charged with sexual assault, family violence, and interfering with an emergency phone call. The victim reportedly told authorities that Pando, 27, was drunk and said he was going to rape her.
Pando allegedly ripped off parts of the victim's clothes and then tried to force his genitals into her mouth. When the victim tried to call 911, Pando grabbed her cell phone and broke it. When Ector County deputies arrived, Pando ran off. He was found and arrested a short time later.
Pando's being held at the Ector County Detention Center on $26,000 bond.
