If you've ever watched the Extreme Makeover: Home Edition then you already know it's a reality TV series that provides home renovations for less fortunate families. But the process isn't as simple as you might think. It requires a lot of planning, a lot of people, and as we found out Monday evening...it requires a pep rally.

Most local pep rallies are for football games, but this was for something much different...and it definitely drew a crowd.

"We are looking for volunteers, we're looking for manpower and material needs. So we're here to do a shout-out about that and ask people to get involved," Milan Vasic, Senior Producer of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, said.

He said it's an opportunity to change someone's life, an experience that will never be forgotten. That's exactly why this pep rally was held...to find those willing to help.

"It's a lot like the barn raising in the 1900's. The entire community comes together. We need people to help feed, cleanup, seamstresses, metal fabricators, you name it...we need it on the job site," Vasic said.

Palm Harbor Homes has been chosen as the construction company, and this isn't the first time they've helped out.

"We built a home in February in Georgia for the Williams family and it was an episode that aired in May, which was the season finale for Extreme Makeover. So it's our second time," Maury Kennedy, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Palm Harbor Homes, said.

He said their first experience was great, and they look forward to the next couple of weeks.

"What usually happens is the community outreach is already there in place because the family is very popular for whatever their needs are, and what we found is that the outpouring of the community support is unbelievable. Our previous experience was we had 4,000 volunteers," Kennedy said.

And after Monday nights pep rally, it looks as if residents of the Lone Star State are ready to lend a helping hand yet again.

"We're grateful to be back in Texas. It's always been...you know. It's got the charm of the south and sort of that attitude like only Texas does, and we really appreciate that here. And we've just been supported every time we came here. So that's why we keep coming back," Vasic said.

No celebrities from the show were in attendance Monday, but Ty Pennington and his crew will soon be here in West Texas to knock on the door of one well-deserving family. That happens next week, and we'll follow the story every step of the way.
