Odessa Teen Arrested For Aggravated Assault

ODESSA-- A teenager who Odessa Police accused of causing a crash has been arrested.
    Elvis Ortiz, 17, turned himself in yesterday and bonded out that same day. Police say he was driving without a seatbelt on South Dixie on November 2nd. When an officer tried to pull him over, he accelerated, lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a car driven by 44 year old Trinidad Mermella. Mermella's car was then sent into two parked cars.
    Ortiz is charged with aggravated assault for the incident.
