MIDLAND -- Every year, the CPU press and the FBI ranks cities across America based on their crime rates per capita. The rankings show which cities have the highest percentage of crimes, such as murders and robberies.
Out of a list of 400 cities, Midland is ranked the 248th most dangerous in the latest rankings. Midland was ranked lower that a lot of other cities in West Texas, such as Lubbock, Amarillo and Abilene. But according to the list, cities such as El Paso and New York City had lower crime rates per capita.
Meanwhile, Odessa came in higher on the list, at 172. That still puts Odessa toward the middle of the rankings. St. Louis, MO was listed as the most dangerous city for this year, followed by Camden, NJ and Detroit, MI.
