ALPINE -- A Louisiana man pleaded guilty Monday to marijuana possession charges after he was caught trying to smuggle 152 pounds of the drug through West Texas.
John Brooks was arrested in late October in Presidio County after he crossed the border from Mexico. Officers searched his vehicle and found the drugs in compartments in the fuel tank. According to reports, Brooks later told authorities he was shipping the drugs to Wichita, KS.
Brooks will now wait to be sentenced.
