Four Loko To Be Pulled From Shelves in Texas Stores

AUSTIN -- Four Loko is one of the caffeine-infused alcoholic drinks that will no longer be available in Texas.
The Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission is asking vendors to remove the drinks from store shelves. T.A.B.C. argues that the eye-catching packaged drinks are marketed toward young adults and underage drinkers. Meanwhile, opponents say there is not enough documented evidence of overdose or injury to prove that Four Loko is any worse than other alcohol-related incidences.
The reason this drink is so dangerous is because it creates a "wide awake drunk", where people are unaware of how drunk they really are. This state can help lead to an overdose.
