MIDLAND -- A house in Midland County was badly damaged by a fire that happened early Thursday morning.
The fire started around 3 AM at 1110 West County Road 118. Authorities say the fire was caused by a wood stove that overheated. Poor ventilation in the home helped the fire intensify. One man was inside the house, but he made it out without any injuries. The man tells Big 2 that someone driving by the house saw the flames and honked the horn, which woke him up and allowed him to get out safely.
Unfortunately, his house is a complete loss, and the Red Cross has now stepped in to help out.
