Michael Woodson Burney was sentenced to 51 months in federal prison today for bank fraud and aggravated identity theft. Burney, 54, was the executive director of the West Texas Council of Campfire U.S.A. when he stole $390,000 from the organization by writing checks to himself. Burney wrote the checks between 2007 and 2009 and he wrote fake invoices and put fake entries into the company's accounting software to cover the fake checks.
