Arson in Odessa

A mobile home goes up in flames, and Ector County Sherrifs Deputies say it was arson. The fire started on 2017 Stoner Road in Odessa on Saturday morning.

Neighbors awoke to the sound of yelling outside their window around 6:30. When they looked outside, they noticed a pickup truck was in flames. Then, the gusty wind spread the fire toward the mobile home. Police say everyone inside was able to get out safely. Residents say they instantly recognized the man fleeing the scene.

"Witnesses saw a particular person wandering in the park who was banned out of the park a few months ago. Soon after they heard a breaking of a bottle and see the car peel out. They recognized the car. The witness was able to identify a photograph of the guy," Tom Vasek, a resident of that area, said.

Sheriffs deputies with the Ector County Sherrif's Office have arrested David Reeves. He is being charged with criminal trespassing and arson.
