Midland Man Given Probation For Oil Field Embezzlement

MIDLAND -- A Midland man was sentenced to 5 years probation for his role in an oilfield embezzlement ring.
Fred Welch Foster got that sentence Friday. He was convicted for his role in an fraud scheme set up by Gary and Jerrod Gardenhire. That scheme helped the brothers steal more than $2 million.
Foster was also told to pay $1.3 million in restitution. He got the same sentence that co-defendant Cody Eckel received.
The Gardenhires will be sentenced in February.
