SAN ANGELO -- Polygamist sect leader Warren Jeffs was in a San Angelo courtroom Wednesday, asking for a delay in his bigamy trial.

Jeffs said he's been having a hard time finding a Texas lawyer that will take his case. The delay was denied, and now the trial is slated to start on January 24th.

Jeffs calls himself a prophet, and was an instrumental part of the Yearning For Zion ranch in Eldorado. That church is part of the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints."

After his court appearance, Jeffs was taken back to Reagan County, where he is being held.
