Jesus Manuel Galindo died at the R.C.D.C. in 2008 , apparently after complications caused by epilepsy. The inmates rioted after Galindo died. Two prison employees were taken hostage, and part of the R.C.D.C. was burned down. Then there was another riot less than six weeks later.
The family has sued the G.E.O. Group and Reeves County, seeking unspecified damages.
