PECOS -- Students in the Pecos-Barstow-Toyah School District will have to wait a little longer to learn who their new superintendent will be.

Earlier this year students held protests against then-Superintendent Santos Lujan after he reassigned the district's athletic director. Lujan eventually resigned, and Maxie Watts began serving as interim Superintendent.

Originally, the district hoped to announce the new superintendent Thursday, but they've were only able to narrow the search down to two candidates by that date.

Both will be in Pecos next week, and the final decision will be made next Friday.
