Midland Habitat for Humanity is proud to announce the dedication of the Apostles Build home! Alynda Best and Renae Ludrick have the details, and explain how you can get involved with the non-profit that gives a hand-up, not a hand-out.

101st Habitat Home Dedication -

Where: 1107 W. Dakota St

When: 6:30 p.m. Thursday Dec 16th, 2010

Who: Midland Habitat for Humanity and Kathy Johnson & family

What:  Dedicating the home to Kathy Johnson and her family which has been built with the partnership of Midland Habitat and area churches.
Construction on the Apostles Build home began with Cotton Flat Baptist Church on October 1st.  Over the course of 2 1/2 months construction continued with volunteers from Christ Church of Midland, First Baptist Church, First Presbyterian Church, First United Methodist Church, Golf Course Road Church of Christ, St. Lukes United Methodist Church, St. Stephens Catholic Church, Stonegate Fellowship and True Lite Christian Fellowship!

Midland Habitat for Humanity seeks to build lives as well as houses.  Through the houses the organization builds, hope is restored and lives are changed as the cycle of need is broken.

Habitat houses are built with a contribution of 350 hours of "sweat equity", labor on the part of the Partner Families (families accepted into the program). By investing themselves in the building process, Partner Families gain self-reliance, self-esteem and new skills.

Habitat brings together people from all walks of life, with varied skills and economic backgrounds to achieve a common goal of service to others.
