The National Weather Service declared moderate drought conditions for the Permian Basin and Trans-Pecos regions Thursday.
While Midland and Odessa have not seen any rain in more than 80 days, many other cities across West Texas and Southeast New Mexico have also stayed dry for more than two months.
Although the region has seen above average rainfall for the year, the dry stretch has caused a lot of danger for the entire region.
