The Consumer Product Safety Commission voted unanimously Friday to outlaw all drop-side cribs. These cribs have been responsible for more than 30 infant deaths over the past decade.
As a result of the decision, millions of cribs have had to be recalled. The commission's decision means that all cribs manufactured, sold, or leased in the U.S. must now comply with the new federal standards.
The new mandates will take effect in June 2011.
