ODESSA -- A fire destroyed an Odessa home and displaced four people Friday.

The fire broke out around 3:15 PM Friday at 2507 Kay Avenue, near the intersection of Dixie and University. A family of four, including two children, were in that home. A smoke alarm warned them about the fire, and they were able to get out of the home safely and without injuries.

Fire crews were able to put the blaze out within 15 minutes, but the house suffered major fire, water and smoke damage. It's being called a total loss and the family is now displaced. The American Red Cross was on the scene to assist the family.

The cause of the fire is still unknown.
