ODESSA -- It's called "Because Everyone Everywhere Matters" or, BEEM for short. The group will its party for the homeless this Friday on Christmas Eve. Last year's event went so well, BEEM has decided to throw a second one, this year, for the men and women of the Reality Alley encampment. But the event is open to everyone in need of a place to go this holiday weekend..

Reality Alley is home to 8 -10 men and women, who, under unfortunate circumstances, found themselves on the streets. Holidays can be a tough time of the year for the homeless. But thanks to the volunteers of BEEM, their holiday just got a little brighter.

"I think its pretty cool. They already gave us a clue as to what one of the cool gifts for the encampment is . I'm curious about it. But each individual is supposed to get something special that will help them out. Its supposed to fun for the Christmas holiday." Said Hawk Palmour, a resident of Reality Alley.

Instead of spending this Christmas eve in tents, building makeshift fires, the residents of Reality Alley and other homeless people can play trivia games surrounded by friends. They'll also be unwrapping some specials gifts that will stay even after Christmas.

"We are providing them with generators for their encampment and a barbeque, sleeping bags, shoes and one of them is getting a dart board." Said Sonni Gonzales, Event Coordinator of BEEM.

These gifts are especially necessary since the people of Reality Alley have been living without electricity and running water for many years now. Its simple utilities most take for granted.

" This is important because in this economy most of us are fortunate but most of us are a paycheck away from being where these people are. And its important to me because I have a roof over my head and I want my children to know it about what you give this Christmas not what you receive. " Said Kristy VanDam, Assistant Event Coordinator.

Due to the cost and complex needs of this year's party, BEEM is asking for your help.

A donation of a store gift card or a discount on purchased merchandise would be greatly appreciated. To volunteer at BEEM or to donate a gift please contact Sonii Gonzales at 432 212 7496.
