Salvation Army Draws Crowd For Christmas Meal

MIDLAND -- The Salvation Army always serves three meals a day. This year, on Christmas, they had a bigger crowd than usual.
More than 60 people were at the Baird Street Salvation Army location got the holiday meal -- almost twice what the location usually sees.
"We have a small dining area, so it was pretty congested," Anne Delgado of the Salvation Army told Big 2. "We had a lot of donations. We had a gentleman and his father who donated their time, cooked a Christmas meal for the shelter, so it was awesome this year."
That food is still helping people. Leftovers are being converted into new meals, which are helping to feed people in need.
As always, the Salvation Army is looking for food donations, along with blankets, pillows, and more.
