MIDLAND -- Midland Police have arrested a man they believe is behind two violent robberies.

Billy Tomlee Turner was arrested earlier this week. Police say he robbed two different people in less than an hour.

Police say the first crime happened Wednesday night on west Illinois. A victim told police that a man wearing a hoodie tried to rob him, threatening a weapon. That victim didn't have any money, and after he showed the crook his empty wallet, the crook ran off.

The second robbery allegedly happened less than an hour later on Missouri, which is about four blocks away. Police say the crook jumped a woman, grabbed her purse, threw her to the ground and ran.

When police went to check on a maintenance shack they had been broken into, they found Turner. That's when he was arrested and charged.
