COLORADO CITY --Texas Rangers are now helping Colorado City Police search for 13-year-old Hailey Dunn. She's been missing for ten days now. And as the days continue to go by, this story is getting national attention.
Colorado City Police say they still have no leads. But, according to CNN's Nancy Grace, Hailey's mother's boyfriend, Shawn Adkins, is planning to take a polygraph test.
He was the last person to see Hailey Dunn before she disappeared.
Hailey Dunn's story is everywhere. And her mothers boyfriend, Shawn Adkins is now at the center of it.
"I would never do anything to that little girl," said Shawn Adkins.
Adkins was the last person to speak to Hailey Dunn before she vanished.
"I love her with all my heart," said Adkins.
CNN's Nancy Grace says Adkins is planning on taking a polygraph test.
Hailey's mother doesn't care whether this attention is good or bad. She is just happy to get her daughter's face out there.
"I just was so thankful for the attention, that's all, i just wanted Hailey's face up there," said Billie Jean Dunn, Hailey Dunn's mother.
Especially since no Amber Alert has been issued, yet.
"There's a lot of frustration," said Pete Kampfer, City Manager of Colorado City.
City Manager Pete Kampfer is aggravated. He says authorities tried to issue an amber alert three times, he says this case doesn't meet the criteria.
"As soon as we get that evidence, and get closer to that, on issuance of an amber alert, we're going to be right on top of it," said Kampfer.
But, with tips coming in everyday to local authorities.
"People are calling us, they're calling PD," said Kampfer.
Dunn's family and friends are hopeful that Hailey will be back home soon.
"We just want her to come home safe," said Adkins.
With no amber alert, Colorado City Police are counting on tips to point them in Haileys direction. The original $10,000 reward has grown to $25,000 for any information that can lead law enforcement to Hailey. If you know anything about her whereabouts, call Colorado City Police at 325-728-5294.
