Craddick Files Fire Extinguisher Inspection Bill

AUSTIN -- Representative Tom Craddick has filed legislation that could save lives.
House Bill 564 will require portable fire extinguishers in local government-owned vehicles to be inspected annually.
Craddick had heard that a constituent's daughter who was killed in a car accident was burned beyond recognition in the fiery crash. The responding city police car reportedly did not have a working fire extinguisher.
"Chances are that if that fire extinguisher had worked, this loving father could've had the opportunity to properly say goodbye to his daughter," Craddick said.
