ODESSA -- A Permian student was badly injured in a head-on collision on a road between Gardendale and Odessa on January 4th.

Kelsey Foster was texting while driving that night, and she ended up swerving into opposing traffic before colliding with a vehicle head-on. Now, Foster is recovering in a Lubbock hospital, but she wants everyone in the Permian community to learn from her experience.

Foster is considering putting her damaged Ford Escape on display outside of Permian High School. The wrecked vehicle would be a message to warn everyone of the dangers of texting while driving.

E.C.I.S.D. Communications Director Mike Adkins says that plans to put the vehicle outside of the school are not final, but are under consideration.
