MIDLAND -- Midland Memorial Hospital is getting ready for a major milestone in their construction.

For a year, the hospital has been working on a massive parking garage as part of their new improvements. Now, that garage is about to open.

On February 1st the main access to the garage will open on Garfield, leading into the 780 spot garage. But that isn't the only place people will be able to park.

"We'll still have our Northwest parking lot, a large parking lot," said Midland Memorial Hospital VP of Support Services Cody Edmondson. "And immediately after the garage opens, just east a new surface parking lot, construction will begin, and add a few 100 spaces as well."

There are also some other changes to the hospital. The entrance for visiting patients will be off of Illinois. The entrance for the medical office building will be off of Garfield. Tennessee will also be closing as progress continues.

The entire project should be done in Spring 2013.
