Bridge on FM 1901 to be Replaced

McCAMEY -- Drivers who use F.M. 1901 between Pecos and Crockett Counties will have to adjust their travel plans soon. That road will be closed next week so crews can replace a bridge.

F.M. 1901 will be closed near the Pecos-Crockett county line starting Monday, January 24th as crews work to replace the route's bridge over the Pecos River. An Odessa-based company will be replacing the bridge.

While most of the road will remain open, F.M. 1901 does not intersect with many major roads in the area, so taking a short detour around the closed bridge will be difficult.

TXDOT recommends that drivers use U.S. 67 and F.M 11 as a detour to F.M. 1901 between McCamey and Bakersfield.

The project is scheduled to be completed in June. The work site is approximately 6 miles south of the intersection of FM 305 and FM 1901 in southwestern Upton County south of McCamey.
