MIDLAND -- A Midland woman was killed in a motorcycle crash along Loop 250 on Christmas weekend. Now, the driver of that motorcycle has been arrested for the incident.

Zachary Hernandez was arrested on Wednesday and charged with intoxication manslaughter. Hernandez was driving his motorcycle in the 1700 block of the Loop 250 service road when he lost control of the vehicle, swerved into the highway median and crashed.

Both Hernandez and his passenger, 22-year-old Heidi Evans, were taken to Midland Memorial Hospital with injuries. Evans died before she could be treated, while Hernandez was airlifted to Lubbock. Both were riding without a helmet on.

Now, Hernandez is charged with a felony for allegedly driving drunk that night.
