AUSTIN -- If you've ever gotten a traffic citation, you've probably just wanted it to go away. Now, that wish could be coming true for thousands of Texans, thanks to a traffic fine amnesty program.

Anyone who got a ticket between September 20th, 2004 and the end of 2008 is eligible for a 90 percent discount if they take part in the D.P.S. Driver Responsibility Program.

About 650,000 Texans could get the discount, but only if D.P.S. gets payment by April 17th. After that, fines will go back to their old levels.
