CAIRO, EGYPT  --  The museum in Cairo where the world's largest collection of Pharaoh-era antiquities are on display was targeted by vandals over the weekend.

The heads of two mummies were ripped off, while display cases were emptied of their priceless contents, and statues and porcelain figures were tossed on the floor.

Museum officials say the would-be looters gained access to the building from  the rooftop, but they didn't steal anything and were arrested.
