ODESSA -- As TXDOT prepares for icy roads, local residents are taking the necessary steps so they won't have to drive on them.

Grocery stores in the Basin have been experiencing a big rush as customers try to stock up on food and supplies should the upcoming storm keep them from leaving their homes for the next few days.

"Well, I bought some Ice Cream for one thing," said one Odessa resident. "I can't be without my Ice Cream and some Bread. Just a few groceries."

Others are stocking up on things like fire wood, water and ice scrapers should they be forced to get out on the road.
