MIDLAND -- Even though some of the snow is already leaving the Permian Basin, The cold weather isn't. That's why you need to be careful.

Never use a gas powered generator inside your home. That can release toxic carbon monoxide fumes, which can be fatal.

If the power goes out, report it immediately. Turn off all appliances in the mean time.

Finally, any time you use space heaters, keep a fire extinguisher nearby. It's always smart to have one handy, in case something goes wrong.
