On Monday night, the council talked about a proposed settlement in their ongoing battle with Fort Stockton Holdings. The settlement would ask that group pay the city $400,000 to handle legal fees, and a $1.1 million fee for use. There would also be an annual $300,000 fee that would go towards improvements.
Fort Stockton Holdings -- which is run by oilman Clayton Williams -- ultimately wants to take water from Pecos County and send it to Midland County through a pipeline.
The issue will be discussed again later in February.
