MIDLAND -- Residents were evacuated from a wing of a Midland Nursing Home on Wednesday because of the cold.

Kissito Health Care of Midland -- which used to be called Trinity Haven Nursing Home -- had a problem with heaters in Hall A Wednesday. With the temperature dropping, they decided to send about 30 residents from there to Allegiance Specialty Hospital, BCA Hospital and Rockwood Manor for a 24-48 hour stay. Kissito staff are also on hand to care for them.

The Texas Department of Human Services was actually in the building at the center Wednesday for a survey. They have been helping affected resident find temporary housing .

The center says that the rest of the facility still has heat and is fine.
