ODESSA -- An Odessa woman is facing charges after authorities say she left her young kids in a car while she bought drugs.

Patricia Morales, 24, was arrested on February 9th. According to an arrest affidavit, Morales left her 2 and 3 year old kids in her car with the motor running. One of the kids was not in a car seat, and detectives say that child was jumping around in the front seat.

When Morales came back to the vehicle and drove away, detectives followed her. She was pulled over for a traffic violation moments later, and she admitted that she had just bought marijuana.

Now, Morales is charged with abandoning a child.
