Basin Counties See Growth In Census

Over the past decade, Midland County's population has grown by more 17 percent. In 2000, a little over 116,009 people lived in Midland County. That number has now grown to more than 136,872.
Ector County's population has also grown by roughly 16,000 people. In 2000, 121,123 people lived in the county, while the current figures stand at 137,130.
There are also significantly more Hispanic people in the Lone Star state than there were in 2000. Hispanic people now make up close to two-thirds of the our state's growth.
