Pickup Smashes Into Gas Station

MIDLAND -- A pickup truck crashed into a gas station in Midland Friday.
The incident happened at Patriot Oil on Midkiff and Interstate 20 around 1:30 PM Friday. A diabetic woman's blood sugar dropped while she was behind the wheel of a pickup. That woman lost control of her vehicle, swerved and ended up smashing into a gas pump at Patriot Oil -- causing a lot of damage to the car and the gas station.
"There was so much speed that nothing did any good as far as stopping her from wiping out the whole island," the owner of Patriot Oil told Big 2.
Fortunately, the driver was not hurt in the crash. No one else was injured.
