ODESSA -- An Odessa man is dead after driving on the wrong side of the road on Loop 338 Saturday night.

DPS troopers tell Big 2 that around 8:45pm, 49-year-old Raul Soliz was driving a 2000 Ford Expedition south in the northbound lanes on 338.

Soliz crashed head on into a tractor trailer traveling north in the left lane between Loop 338 and Highway 302.

Soliz was pronounced dead on the scene.

The man driving the truck was not injured.

Troopers say they are investigating why Soliz was driving the wrong way.
