MIDLAND -- This week is Severe Weather Awareness Week in Texas. On Thursday, we all got a reminder of one of our most common problems -- fierce winds.

In West Texas, when the wind whips up, it carries dust along with it. That can limit visibility on the roads and cause other problems. It can also push cars around, making it hard to drive in the first place.

The dust flew all over the Tall City on Thursday, and some of it settled on the field at Citibank Ballpark. The dust storms were caused by 50 mph wind gusts.
