Three Crashes Shut Down I-20 for Hours.

MIDLAND -- The Midland Police Department responded to three accidents along I-20 on February 25, 2010 that closed down westbound I-20 except for one lane for approximately 2 hours.
 
The first accident was at the 4000 block of Midkiff, at 5:50pm. A 17-year old female driving a white 2002 Ford mustang was traveling on the eastbound inside lane, when she swerved to the left to avoid hitting a dog. She left the roadway towards the left rolling her vehicle and coming to rest in the inside westbound traffic lane.  Driver was transported by EMS to Midland Memorial Hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
 
The second accident at the 3600 block of west I-20 came in at 6:04pm. A white Ford F-150 driven by a 59-year old male was traveling on the westbound outside lane the driver started to slow down due to backed up traffic because of the first accident. As he slowed, a Silver Ford Taurus driven by an 18-year old male traveling behind him collided with the F150. The driver of the Taurus was issued a citation for failure to control speed.
 
6The third accident, 6:05pm, at the 3600 block of I-20 just west of the second accident. A blue 2004 Dodge Ram driven by a 47-year old female was rear ended by a 2008 White Ford 350 driven by a 21-year old male. Both drivers were distracted by the second accident. Two citations were issued to the driver of the Blue Dodge Ram, one for no current Drivers license and the other for no insurance.
