Hilltop Fire now Under Control

BIG SPRING -- The Texas Forest Service says that the "Hilltop Fire" is now under control North of Big Spring.
Sunday afternoon that fire threatened 80 homes around Jonesboro Rd. and Hilltop Rd. One vacant home and some other structures caught fire because of the high winds, and other people were frantically hosing down their homes, trying to keep the fire from spreading.
Before it was over that fire burned about 30 acres.
