AUSTIN -- The Texas Forest Service is still assessing the damage caused by Sunday's wildfires.

The service is still working to get several fires contained -- including one in Mitchell County. Crews are strengthening the fire lines and dousing hot spots.

So far, the fires have claimed more than 60,000 acres and 27 homes -- several of which were in Colorado City.

Potter County was hit the worst. A wildfire there burned more than 30,000 acres.
