BREWSTER COUNTY -- Crews continue to fight a massive wildfire in Brewster County.

The 101 Ranch Fire is burning about 10 miles southwest of Alpine, and it's consumed more than 2000 acres over the past several days. Two hand crews have been working 16-hour days to fight that blaze from the ground, and three more crews have been requested. Six fire engines, four crop-duster planes, a heavy air tanker, an air attack plane and two helicopters are also helping out.

Crews have had trouble dousing the flames because of the rugged terrain in the area, which is too rugged for bulldozers.

Six structures are already threatened and 15 more could be threatened.
