Child Killed In Andrews County Rollover Crash

ANDREWS COUNTY -- A child has passed away after in a rollover crash in southern Andrews County Friday afternoon.

    This accident happened on U.S. 385 south of Andrews around 4:15 PM Friday. A PT Cruiser was heading north on the highway towards the ditch when the driver over-corrected causing the car to roll over. 18-year-old Katina Romo and 1-year-old Andrew Lopez were ejected from the vehicle. 17-year-old Dallas Lopez and 1-year-old Isaiah Romo were removed by emergency personnel. Lopez, who was thrown from the vehicle did not survive. Romo, who was ejected from the vehicle, was sent by CARE Star helicopter to Odessa.

    TXDOT closed one lane of U.S. 385 in each direction because of the crash. TXDOT warned drivers to avoid the area if possible Friday evening, since those lanes were expected to be closed for several hours.
