BREWSTER COUNTY -- One of the biggest wildfires to hit West Texas in recent years is finally under control.

A massive fire in Brewster County was contained over the weekend. More than 8,000 acres were lost as part of the mind fire, which was caused when crews lost control of a prescribed burn.

The fire threatened 7 structures, but none of them were lost. Mexican fire crews also came over the border to help.

Cooler weather over the weekend also made the easier to contain.
