Trucker Killed In Crash On F.M. 1788

MIDLAND COUNTY -- A trucker was killed in a tractor-trailer crash Tuesday morning.

    The fatal accident happened on F.M. 1788 just south of TX 191 around 6 AM Tuesday. A freightliner was traveling north on F.M. 1788, when the driver tried to turn left and cross the southbound lane. An oncoming FedEx truck carrying two trailers smashed into the side of the freightliner.

    The driver of the FedEx truck -- 45-year-old Darin Gaylor - was killed in the crash. The driver of the freightliner -- 57-year-old Salvador Hernandez -- was rushed to Midland Memorial Hospital.

    Charges are pending in the crash.
